This is Heart Care InternationalIt is a team of health care professionals who volunteer their time and skills to save young lives. It is a not-for-profit organization that delivers high quality, compassionate medical and surgical care to children with life threatening heart diseases in developing countries. Please look at these pictures from a recent mission trip. Our MissionThe immediate goal of Heart Care International is to provide open heart surgery for poor children and young adults in developing countries. This is accomplished by large annual mission trips of our teams to selected countries where we perform the operations. Currently, our large mission trips go to the Dominican Republic. Additionally, we continue to send small training mission teams to Guatemala. The long term goal of Heart Care International is to train local health care professionals in the medical and surgical management of heart disease, enabling them to provide heart care within their own community. We are achieving this both by training local surgeons and staff during our annual missions and by bringing several of them to the United States. Please read our complete Mission Statement. Our NeedsTo accomplish our goals, we need Contributions for medical supplies, educational materials and shipment of equipment to host countries. Since Heart Care International relies entirely on volunteers for the planning, preparation, and carrying out of this mission, funds are also needed to pay the additional cost of travel and lodging for members. Your contribution saves lives. Heart Care International has established an endowment fund in support of the initiatives and mission of the program. Funding is being sought from individuals, corporations and foundations through donations, pledges, and grants. Heart Care is a 501(c)(3) organization and is happy to issue tax effective receipts where applicable. Read more about usRead our Brochures , Newsletters, Articles about our work and Press Releases.
