The lack of space in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Hospital Bloom has been forced repeatedly to suspend open-heart surgeries.

Carlos Montoya, intensive pediatric cardiologist, said that space capabilities are enabled to take six to seven beds.

Each has its monitor, mechanical ventilator and other necessary equipment.

Montoya explained that the entire instrumental in the ICU is led by the organization. "It is to receive children in the first 24 to 48 hours of post-operative period, which is critical," he added.

The cardiologist said that after that time, and depending on the status of infants intervened, was to spend 24 hours in the ICU Bloom or services for their recovery

They also provided the instrumental to the operating room and respiratory therapy.

Heart Care International also provides the necessary inputs and medicines.

In the day involved 75 professionals including nurses, surgeons and anesthesiologists.
