Administrative Team
The life-saving heart surgeries and interventions performed by Heart Care International would not be possible without the lay individuals, professionals and corporations who work tirelessly to support success of each mission trip.
Heart Care International is proud to introduce its Administrative Team:
Erendira Matzumura, currently Executive Director for Heart Care International, has been working with HCI since December 2006. Prior to joining HCI, Ms. Matzumura founded and led a non profit organization that focused on supporting the education of Hispanic immigrant families in New York City. Ms. Matzumura graduated from ITAM College in Mexico City. She has an MBA from the Harvard Business School and has 10 years of work experience in the financial sector prior to joining HCI.
Phyllis Jacob, a founding member of Heart Care International, became interested in helping chilldren suffering from life threatening heart issues when her 10-year-old daughter underwent open heart surgery. An active member of HCI's board of directors and administrative team, Ms. Jacob has been responsible for helping organize and orchestrate over 25 mission trips. Her husband, Jerry, long standing American Airlines executive, has facilitated deeply discounted air travel for all HCI volunteers on over 25 mission trips.
Debbie Fatica, a graduate of University of Pennsylvania, spent the first decade of her career honing her skills in Sales and Administration Management, before retiring to raise her 3 children. After almost 20 years of volunteerism in various schools and non-profits, Debbie reentered the work force in 1999 as Heart Care International's Administrative Assistant/Logistics Coordinator.
